Our Why
We didn’t set out to build a company.
We just kept building things that mattered.
Slightly Unhinged LLC wasn’t born from a business plan, a boardroom, or some perfectly mapped-out five-year strategy.
It grew from two people who kept asking one simple question:
“What if we actually did it?”
- What if we told the story?
- What if we started the podcast?
- What if we built the radio station?
- What if we wrote the book?
- What if we created the platform we wished already existed?
And somewhere along the way, all of those what ifs became something much bigger than either of us expected.
We believe stories matter.
The ones that make you laugh until you can’t breathe.
The ones that are hard to tell.
The ones about sacrifice, service, survival, failure, starting over, falling in love, finding purpose, and becoming someone you never planned to be.
Especially those stories.
Because behind every project under Slightly Unhinged LLC is a person, a story, or an idea we believed deserved a place to exist.
Different projects. Different audiences. Same heartbeat.
We don’t believe you have to have it all figured out.
We certainly didn’t.
- We have built things while working full-time jobs.
- We’ve learned skills because we couldn’t afford to hire someone else to do them.
- We’ve changed directions.
- We’ve made mistakes.
- We’ve Googled things we probably had absolutely no business attempting five minutes before attempting them anyway.
- We’ve started with what we had, figured out the next step, and kept going.
And somewhere between the microphones, websites, late nights, crazy ideas, equipment, stories, music, deadlines, and a whole lot of “Okay...hear me out,” we built an entire family of brands.
Not because everything went according to plan.
Because it didn’t.
We built it because we were willing to begin before we felt completely ready.
That’s the Slightly Unhinged part.
To us, being Slightly Unhinged isn’t about being reckless.
It’s about being willing to color outside the lines a little.
- To question the way things have always been done.
- To take the chance.
- To make the thing.
- To tell the truth.
- To give someone a microphone who deserves to be heard.
- To turn an idea scribbled down during a random conversation into something real.
- And to believe that you don’t need permission to create something meaningful.
This is bigger than us.
At the end of the day, we’re not trying to build the biggest media company in the world.
We’re trying to build something that means something.
- Something our family can be proud of.
- Something that honors where we’ve been.
- Something that creates opportunities for other people.
- Something that makes somebody laugh on a bad day, remember a song they forgot they loved, discover a story they needed to hear, or finally believe their own idea might be worth pursuing.
If something we create makes one person feel a little less alone, a little more understood, a little more inspired—or gives someone the courage to tell their own story—then it did what it was supposed to do.
Because Slightly Unhinged LLC isn’t really about podcasts, radio stations, books, merchandise, or media.
Those are just the things we build.
People are the reason we build them.
And we’re nowhere near finished.
